The validating is an intentional function that makes sure you're correctly logged in before submitting. It helps to ensure that you don't submit text only be to sent to a "login" page where your text is lost.

While I'm sorry to hear of the problem you're having, this is the first report of that causing a problem since the system was added many, many years ago. Since you still have the screen open, my suggestion would be to copy the text of the comment and then reload the page to try again.
