You're right. No one cares about Environmentalism and Animal rights. It's the sad truth.
The US government spends hundreds of millions of dollars on war, higways and other things but barely puts any effort into the fate of the planet. The government is in denial when it comes to global warming, pollution and the depletion of natural resources and habitats.
The American Forestry Association is a government agency whose job, ironically, is to cut down trees and allot lumber to various logging industries. Over 50% of the trees in America are extinct of endangered. I don't have exact numbers and species in front of me, but I'll look them up.
In the early 1900's hunting was the craze in America. You were encouraged to kill predators, such as mountain lions (highly endangered- considered extinct by some), bears, bobcats and eagles. All these animals were on the verge of extinction and some of them such as the mountain lion have been introduced via captive breeding.
Not to sound like a Nazi, but I think the world would be a much better place without us, without people.
