Acid Tongued

I was channel surfing yesterday (6/05/04) and was momentarily stunned when I saw the national alert newscast. You know, the very same formant the newscasts took on to broadcast the 9/11 disaster.
Given all of the recent impending threat of renewed terrorism, I thought, oh no, not again.
Wrong!! They just wanted us to know that President Ronald Reagan had died.

It's a sad thing, no doubt. But did they have to scare the sh*t out of us to tell us? Oh! that just made me so mad!! Should we have had the same amount of news coverage? Yes. Fly the flags at half mast for 30 days? No.

Where are our priorities? Can someone tell me if the flag was flown at half mast when 3,000 people lost their lives on 9/11? I honestly can't remember. If the flags were flown at half mast, for how long?

I have one more thing to say. Dear 'I have got to get the story out first and get the most coverage and stay on the air the longest and get the most details no matter how small and insignificant and I have to get all of the top ratings over everyone one else in this pissing contest,' GET OVER YOURSELVES!!
