Wow! What a rollercoaster.

Your story was very realistic with all of the details – what she wore, where she was going, what she was. It set up well for the unexpected ending. I’m a romantic and optimist so I’m glad the story ended on a more positive note, though it was left open as to what was going to happen next.

And I am certainly interested in knowing what happens next to her. Maybe someday you’ll write more of her and her life.

I also really liked how the first sentences connected to the last.

Contraindicated was the only word that tripped me up. You don’t have to change it, just know that it made me pause and look it up before continuing on the story.
