These are some great ideas that surprise us all at how easily the kids are entertained. A good moral is to keep control in order to avoid mishaps, such as the bushwalk. Might I suggest something a little less dangerous, such as a treasure hunt, both inside the house and in back and front yards. With adults in both places to keep a sharp eye on them. There might be a mess to clean up letting kids run around the house, but there is always going to be a mess of some kind after a party. Kids' excitement after a successful party can make cleaning up a chore that we don't mind so much. Let the kids help out and
clean up as you go, with a promise of something fun to take home if they cooperate. I believe you mentioned this already.
