Hi April,
I carefully read your poem, here is my review. Congratulations on your three years with WDC.
Please remember, I'm a writer just like you and these are only my impressions. My ultimate goal is to be helpful and supportive. Thanks for sharing your work.

*ButterflyR*TITLE: “Sparrow” is a simple and sweet title that fits this poem. It tells you what the poem will be about as you're reading the words to the poem.

*ButterflyR*Narrative & Dialogue: The author's narrative on the sparrow is poignant. It tells a sad story about the bird with the sweetest sound I've ever heard. I love listening to them outside my window.

*ButterflyO*Form & Flow: The poem has a beautiful rhythm to it as it rhymes with an aabb pattern. It flows with visual images for the reader to picture.

*ButterflyG*Imagery & Emotion: These five stanzas are filled with imagery and emotion of this sad little bird. Mainly, he just wants to sit in a tree and sing, but he's being heckled by an angry world. Being it's wintertime, the poem starts out with the sparrow sitting by the river where it's soothing flow is no longer. It's now frozen over by the harsh cold winds.

*ButterflyB*Suggestions & Typos: I have no suggestions to give this wonderful poem. I found no typos.

*ButterflyV*Overall Thoughts & Rating: I do love the imagery you've woven into this poem. When you can picture in your mind what the author is trying to get across and the emotion. Good job! Thanks for sharing this item! I only review things that I enjoy reading and I truly did enjoy this piece.

*ButterflyR*FAVORITE LINE: For the crisp mountain river has it all if one is so keen
To perceive its gifts - and she did, my friend - her eyes saw the unseen
Yet the little sparrow still wishes she could just sit in a tree
But she is at peace and she knows that from this place she'll never flee

*Note*COMMENT:*Note*
These lines above again are very visual. I know pictures of a sparrow are expressed in a symbolic ways. When it's pictured singing a song, this symbolizing freedom and when a sparrow is diving toward a nautical star, this represents freedom to love and to find your true love.

Take care now, keep on writing, I’ll keep on reading,
