Hi warriormom
I carefully read your poem, here is my review. I want to first wish you a “Happy Anniversary!” Five years with WDC!
Please remember, I'm a writer just like you and these are only my impressions. My ultimate goal is to be helpful and supportive. Thanks for sharing your work.

*ButterflyG*Title: "Distant" is the name of this poem. It is called "A Pleiades poem" which won ~ 1st Place~ for Pat.

*ButterflyV*Message/Theme: I think the message of this author is telling her readers of memories that come back to haunt a person. When I was reading, I pictured an older woman living in a retirement community who was relieving her past memories. We all have them and many of us, during our busy days, push away the sadder ones to the back of our minds. When you are older, with nothing else to occupy your mind, these memories all come and go in a "delicate dance." I love that!

*ButterflyR*Narrative/Style: Your “behind the scenes” description of what kind of poem you wrote was just as interesting to read as your poem itself.
It's very original and the best part of this style of poetry is when it exercises your mind. You really have to think of all words that start with the title's letter and still make it sound like something.
Your poem gave me this picture of an older woman that I could see so vividly as she's thinking back in her lifetime on this earth.

*ButterflyO*Form/Flow: The poem flows so beautifully with these few words. There is so much meaning to it.

Tone: The tone of the author is of reflections, she’s in command of her words as she paints her readers a picture.

Mood: The mood is contemplative, thoughtful and maybe even dreamy. We all will reach this stage in our lives where all we have is our memories. Peaceful also comes to my mind.

*ButterflyG*Imagery/Pace: The imagery is powerful in this poem. It's all in how you put these words together. Dancing distant memories, darting in and out paints such a fascinating picture of an aging memory that is doing the "reminiscing" in this poem.

*ButterflyB*Suggestions & Typos: I didn't find any errors.

*ButterflyV*Overall Thoughts & Rating: I feel for such a short poem it has a lot of content to think about. Good poem! Thanks for sharing this item! I only review things that I enjoy reading and I truly did enjoy this piece.

*ButterflyR*FAVORITE LINE: Yes, I do have a favorite line: "Delicate dance of distant memories darting in and out of a dying soul."

*Note*JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION:*Note*
In the news today, a 79 year old Michigan woman emerged from a 5-year semi-coma. While I was reading your poem, this story came to my mind. Don't you wonder what memories she was thinking about all this time. Well, she did ask to go to a Bob Seger concert. She gets her wish, but then said she didn't know why she said it at the time. It makes you wonder...

Take care now, keep on writing, I’ll keep on reading,
