Title: Painting. Works perfectly

First Impression: I was surprised, did not expect that ending.

What I liked: I really enjoyed how you portrayed Dirk has a geeky socially inapt person and how the narrator missed conversing.

What needs your attention: The spacing between where preposterous ends and later that night...unless your intent is to make the reader pause there. I am not sure what you are thinking there.

Favorite Parts: I love when you ask someone not to tell and the first chance they get, spill the beans. I never ask someone not to say something because I am sure they will regardless of my request.

Overall Impression: Excellent. I enjoyed the abrupt violent ending. I did not see it coming at all. He seemed so harmless.
