I saw this essay listed on the review request page and took a look. I don't usually read or review essays, but because this involved bipolar disorder I made an exception. I hope my comments are helpful.

After reading this short essay I wondered why it was written. Was this done for a class? Out of personal curiosity? An attempt to understand a personal problem?

There is always a reason to write the things we write, whether it's a novel or a short essay, so I wondered about the reason here.

There is so much more to say about Bipolar disorders, and while this is somewhat informative, I think it could be more helpful to a Bipolar reader if it were more in-depth.

While there is no definitive research on the causes of bipolar disorder, it is thought that an emotional trauma can bring the disorder to the surface for someone whose body already contains the propensity for the illness. There are many medications used to treat bipolar disorder that you don't list. There is Celexa and Limotrigine. Both are fairly safe and effective.

One of the many side effects of Lithium is tremors, dizziness, and blurred vision.

I hope my comments have been useful in some way. If you suffer from this awful illness, getting help as soon as possible can be life saving.
