The first thing that struck me about this was how much if resonated with me. My wife and I had a very similar experience during our honeymoon. The inexpensive, cheap, cheesy, motel room we stayed in one night must have been owned by the same little energetic man who rented yours to you.

I like the way your story, and your experience, remained positive throughout the ordeal. Horrendous storms, inadequate shower curtains, and faulty air conditioning aside, you have a memory that will always be with you. And sometimes the memories like these are the best ones anyway.

This is well written, keeps a positive and humorous voice throughout, and your fondness of the experience is evident. I hope there have been many more good memories to mark your life.
