Hello Sue
This poem, to me, is not just about comedy in marital life, but it also is an observation of the adjustment and compromise that partners have to make.
While recalling the past and present happiness of togetherness, you have also shown life's natural course as it flows on. No river flows unhindered. No life is without lows and highs. Those two partners cannot always live in a paradise of their own where things work in perfect harmony. If that is so, it might be a bit monotonous. So, if we dwell on fact and pleasure, disagreement is as natural as individuals are. You are so right about the way we make each other "frown" or let each other down. There would be umpteen examples in every marriage.
What I loved about this poem is how appealingly you put the things into attractive style and language. Imagery is visual and real.
It flows well.
