Hi jimmyfin! Happy Earth Day! I giggled at title and then saw the tag line, so I had to check it out. Also I watch a lot of chipmunks around here. They are as hyper as me! I was unfamiliar with the lune form as well so off I went to check it out. I have been learning Haiku and wow! This seems easier! Reading yours, I am now inspired to try one. Thank you. I did really smile at your series of three lune poems about watching a chipmunk. In few words you capture the essence of his activity with a vivid in the moment image in each verse. I like the repeated lines in verse 1 and 3 as a sandwich effect and how like a chippy to repeat its actions. The contrast in the third line to you watching him is effective and funny as I am now evoked to ponder the lazy life of the speaker just watching the work. It makes me think Shouldn't I be getting ready too with some preparation and also wondering how to enjoy my activity as much as he seems to--even the repeated routine! Brilliant weaving. I love when I can take a journey into another perspective (as haiku evokes as well) Lessons from a chipmunk--could be different for each reader. Thanks for sharing this comical yet philosophical kind of piece. It is so wonderful how observing the natural world sparks the muse! Light on the path as you write on! eyestar
