Hi, love! I'm supposed to review a user poll for Carmela's "The Challenge" . Yours is the only one that immediately came to mind, as it is the only one that I've visited more than once.

I love the idea of allowing other people to choose a winning newbie. I also have the general feeling that a few of them are chosen because they don't get super involved... sort of a way to get them out into the community more. I love that. They might not win, but they're getting recognized.

Of course, it is super difficult for people who work with newbies to vote in these polls. There has only been one month in which two members appeared who I did not know. In all others, I've known them all or all but one. Talk about rough!

Still, I think the spotlight is a super nice gesture, and getting the community to vote is even better because it inherently provides new people with exposure to their work.
