I have enjoyed reading this chapter on country life of Belinda and her kids. I could individually enjoy this chapter because it has a beginning, a middle and an end through which it was not difficult imagine some aspects of Belinda's life. Belinda, as a newcomer to the country neighborhood has some apprehensions as to whether her kids could adapt to the new life and if she could make a success of her station in life. Having been widowed at a crucial time in life, she faces fear of future and the upbringing of her children.
Their schooling is discussed with a kind neighbor and friend, Cheryl. I got some useful information on what the kids need when they join a new school.
Prose style-
It is done with elegance and spontaneity.The air of casualness about it makes the narrative very interesting and absorbing. Sentences and paragraphs are logically connected and there is an involuntary participation of the reader as well. Eating and attending to chores, are shown appealingly among other things.
It is a nice experience to wander around the farm house.
