I don't read a lot of non-fiction, but your piece drew me right in. Even at my age, I totally understand what you're saying. Unfortunately, we creative people have a harder time in school (at least I did) because we weren't meant to learn like they teach. And I believe there needs to be changes. Perhaps someone like you can help that happen... probably not now, but when you attend college, or afterwards, help learning to be taught more creatively. That's what I love about homeschooling. Parents have control on how their children are taught. The whole day's subjects can be based on one theme. A child discovers a fallen baby bird and there's the theme for that day, basing math problems, science, poetry or journaling, or whatever, creatively. I could go on and on about this, but since it's a review, I'd better get back to it.

My reviews are intended to be helpful and encouraging, not hurtful in any way. Use what you feel works, and leave the rest.

I only have one suggestion, and it's just an itty-bitty little typo. (I almost hate to mention it because I feel like one of them. )

Favorite lines...

As a child, I was full of life and creativity and spark. I can remember creating websites, writing my own news articles, writing chapter books, short stories, poems, etc.

I can promise you it will come back. Your creativity may be stifled for the time being, but it will never go away. When it is fed correctly, it will burst forth with new life! I'll guarantee it will return. Nice job with this piece. Perhaps you could become an advocate to others who feel the same way.
