I like the story telling tone of the poem. Though it describes the daily routine of a couple, it doesn't sound monotonous mainly due to humor and narrative style. Dozens of homes have the same routine, yet each day, as it dawns is welcome with a new hope and a new expectation. It is this fact of anticipation,that makes us go through the same cycle day in and day out. Our attitudes matter a lot. For some, the same things appeal even though they are repeated because they treat each day as a bringer of new experiences. As long as we have this outlook, nothing is boring.

The poet,in this carefully composed poem of rhyming quatrains endeavors to record a day's events in well chosen words and word endings. It throws light on how days slide into years and decades punctuated by events and experiences, which I understand is termed beautifully in the last stanza.
"Tomorrow is another day
Time for work and time for play
Into each life a little rain
Brother, here we go again."

It may be routine but without it how many can live happily. There certainly is a routine in the cycle of seasons. Yet, we love nature with all its repetitive seasons. I see the parallels between our lives and nature.
