I think you may attract more readers to your port if you perhaps try your hand at reviewing. There are many genres from which you can choose to read. You may be helpful to those who are also dealing with being bipolar.

Answering your emails from the individual reviewers is critical. They may not see this public thank you, or feel that since they gave a review a more personal reply would be expected, thus you may lose readers rather than attract them to your blog.

As you stated in the body of your letter, it is, "hastily-written, short, and more of a shameless plug than a literary venture." This may also make readers skip the review of the item because they don't feel you are taking your writing seriously.

This subject matter is important and it's also important to reach as many readers as possible. I think taking the steps suggested above will help you reach your goals.
