Hello there, urals
This is a Simply positive Review *Teapotp* .

*Treecypress* I enjoy poems about nature and especially the rejuvenation that comes with spring, so this was a good choice, today.

*Doorgr* I loved how you painted a picture, about how spring has an affect on people. Farmers are planning ahead, birds are readying their nests, and grasses and flowers are trying to work their way through the remaining snow covered areas.

*Tempcold* It's true that in many locations, March merely marks the beginning of spring on calendar. It's still chilly enough to remind one that winter can have the last laugh, sometimes cruelly, at the end of the month, thus the whole, March "going out like a lion," quote.

My favorite line:

"And break through snow's creaky crust!"

*Skiboots* There is just something about it that brings me back to my childhood. I loved the crunching, creak of the snow, when the sun has shone on it during the day and the cold night air has frozen-over the top layer, leaving a crust. It's just perfect for kids (and playful adults) to attack.

Observations:

The last stanza has a repeated use of "back" ending both the first line and the last. Possibly there is a replacement to one's rhyming partner?

*Idea*The flowers and grasses will stay on track
(Just a quick example)

*Note1* Two out of four of the lines in the last verse end in exclamation points. I think they are more distracting, rather than emphasizing the awakening of spring. Merely my opinion, though.

Your poem did bring a picture of pure joy to my spirit as I recalled so many March-springs, of the past. Wintering in Florida prevents my experiencing that special time, when the dawning of spring awakens a new spirit in those who have gone through that long, cold season. *Butterflyv*

Thanks for the trip down memory lane in the month of March. *Tagp*

Until next time--write on!

Regards,
WebWitch
