My Thoughts:
In this poem, we explore the atmosphere prior to a summer storm.
My Favorite Part:
> Butterflies catch a ride on the wings of blackbirds. This is extrememly vivid and unique. I love the image of this in my mind.
> The old woman and her flowers is also drawn well. I can see her in my mind's eyes as she tends her flowers before the storm.
> I love how in the end, the people savor the summer day, ignoring the threat of the oncoming storm.
My Suggestions:
> With a sky so ominous it contrasts the green around and leaves peace in its wake. This line is a bit confusing to me. The green what? Leaves? Grass?
Final Thoughts:
I've always been deeply fond of summer storms, but I've never given much thought to the time before the storm begins. This poem lets me reflect on that breathless time where summer is still Queen, and the King of Storms has yet to take control. Thank you for sharing with us!
