Title: I thought the title drew me in wanting to know more about what happened on a Cold Winter's Night

Over all impression: The introduction and the first paragraph captured my interest and kept me wanting to read more and find out what part the ambulance played in the story. Each line lead me further into the story making me sit on the edge of my seat with suspense, waiting to know what was going to happen next. The story provoked a deep sadness in me when I found out the neighbors wife Jennifer died from an asthma attack. It was so real and credible, and the fact she was out having dinner celebrating her daughters birthday and then like a lightening bolt, she was struck down dead from a terrible turn events going from not feeling well, to not being able to breathe and beyond help when the ambulance got there. How real and scary!

What I liked: What's not to like? You did a fantastic job of writing a story of the uncertainties of life! You took us through the husband and the children's grieving separating themselves from everyone. Until time began a healing in the family and life once again took on meaning for the family when the husband found some who could bring joy back into the family. I cried, and then cheered for the family, again it was so real and I could relate to the story because I have a serious illness.

Summary: Fantastic story! Filled with suspense, sadness and awe at how life can knock you down and then pick you back up again! Felt like I was in the story watching each scene unfold!
