Hi Marci,

My name is Lyn and I am doing a review for Simply Positive.

Please remember I am a writer, I know what it feels like to be reviewed! Please take what you feel is helpful and disregard the rest. Only YOU know what is right for your writing!

Title: The Wise Old Tree

First Impression: Initially it struck me odd that the green was only in one stanza, and then the light came on in this sometimes slow to get something. It visually is a tree as well as writing about one.

What I liked: How you repeated in my backyard sits a tree, most wise. There is something soothing about having something familiar to be with one is feeling sad. The tree gave you a place to compose yourself, ask the questions you needed without judging you or making you feel silly for asking.

What needs your attention: Nothing, it is very well done.

Favorite Parts: The last stanza gives me the feeling the author has found peace and this is makes me feel happy as well. Silence can be comforting when needed. I have enjoyed many special moments with a weeping willow when I was younger. These days, I spend a lot of time with a Japanese Red Maple that I am growing from a baby.

Overall Impression: I could feel the author growing over time in the swing with the wise old tree. It is excellent poem of coming to age. I hope you children have a swing in their yard to spend time swinging and thinking all the thoughts that come to mind.

Thank you for letting me read your work. It was my pleasure!
Lyn
