I enjoyed your story very much. You did a great job in filling in details and a bit of background on house even though story is strictly dialogue. I did wonder who had sent/ told killer the old lady was nearly dead though. I also wondered why a report of a strange, threatening man would be reported to officers as a non-emergency check though. Very cold dispatcher! I know he hadn't threatened woman, but her fear and comments should have been red flags to officers and/or dispatch. Still, that mistake is what makes story work and creates drama at end. It would be nice to see officer showing a bit more compassion though, and put out search for obvious suspect.
