Please remember that you are the best judge of what is right for your story! Whatever I say, whether positive or negative, is just my opinion! You are the only one who can decide what is right for your story.

Hi Than Pence, I found your story, Dr. Cliffbaum, in The Writer’s Cramp section, I enjoyed reading it and wanted to share some thoughts with you about it.

Hooks: A hook is the best way to draw your readers in and make them want to continue reading. What I look for in hooks are the title, the story description, and the first paragraph. I like the title and story description.

Characters: I like these characters and you have developed them in such a way that I have a good image of them.

My Favorite Quote(s): “I hear that, Shirtrance. Ever since those Victorians started populating America with their fancy steam engines, it seems like electricity has taken a back seat to that muggy means of motorization.”

Overall Impression: Steampunkis a genre I discovered recently, and this is my first time reviewing it. I have done some research on the genre, and your story meets all the elements to qualify as such.

I like the way the dialogue flows in this piece. Doctor Antony von Cliffbaum amuses me with his preoccupation of having his name pronounced correctly. He doesn’t come up with much of a plan to keep Madam Nikki’s mounts from rusting.
I like the ending to this story when we find out dragons are allergic to brass!

Grammar/Punctuation/Spelling :I prefer to review only for character development and story line.

Final Thoughts : Thanks for sharing this item, it has given me a clearer picture of what steampunk is all about. Write On *PenBl*
