Hi Kactus Berry, I’m reviewing The Ring On My Finger for WDC 14th Birthday Sr. Mod. Challenge.

*Bookopen* Hooks : I think a hook is the best way to draw your readers in and make them want to continue reading. I like the title of your poem and the description tells me it’s about a man missing his wife.

*Bookopen* My Favorite Lines:
All that I am, has now been destroyed,
for I’m lost without you, and found in distraught.

*Bookopen* Overall Impression: I don’t know a lot about poetry, so before I could review this poem I had to research and learn about the pantoum form of poetry. *FacePalm* At first it seemed quite complicated and confusing to me, but after studying your poem I began to understand.

The second stanza is my favorite, and I feel it expresses the mood of this poem best. It gives me an image of the man and his sorrow, mourning his lost love, and feeling that through his own failure, he has lost everything that mattered to him.

I found it amazing how the meaning of the lines change when they are repeated even though the words stay the same, but the mood of the poem isn’t altered. In my opinion, you have created an excellent poem.

Final Thoughts: Reading and reviewing The Ring On My Finger has been an eduation to me, and I’m tempted to try to write a pantoum. *Smile* Thank you for sharing this poem, I hope to read more of your poetry.
