Yes, I agree. As long as we do our best and hope for a better future, we can live with a good feeling. Depression, desolation, despair and disaster are everyday occurrences the world over, for various reasons.
I think a thorough self examination is necessary to ascertain the reasons thereof and act according to what your reason shows.
Prayer is always good as you have said in the last stanza. It is a saving aspect of life. It keeps our hope high and it inspires us to live without the existential worries. I think attitude counts.

Your poem rhymes well and conveys the feelings through apt choice of words and line endings.

Imagery in the first two couplets is visual and appeals to me.
