Review number # 5 of week September 4-10, 2014 Hi Jack, My name is Lyn and I am doing a review for Simply Positive. Please remember I am a writer, I know what it feels like to be reviewed! Please take what you feel is helpful and disregard the rest. Only YOU know what is right for your writing! Title: The Fence First Impression: Jack wrote it in red was the first thing that jumped out at me before I even read a word. I knew that I would be sad and I was. What I liked: The fence survived and flourished while everything around it suffered because of its existence. What needs your attention: Nothing. Favorite Parts: The lands were the same but not because of a battle and a fence that clearly stood for all the differences. Kin against kin, in a chaotic time of sadness. My heart broke that the finches lay in pools of blood, symbolic of the lost innocence and that no one cared. Overall Impression: I felt the red emphasized the violence, and the fact that the poem remained along the side represented the shame involved of no one caring that kin was fighting against kin. Innocent birds dead in a pool of blood a startling reminder that war is devastating and final. Thank you for letting me read your work. It was my pleasure! Lyn My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
