Hey Jess,

I really love the title of this poem! I can really relate to the subject matter. Our minds really can be our own worst enemies can't they? I'm sure any reader who has suffered depression or any other form of mental illness will really get what you're saying here. Even writers who have never had mental health issues will, I'm sure, have had to deal with their share of dark thoughts as part of their creative journey.

Being resident in Cardiff, I've also got to say I think it's really cool that you wrote this in a Welsh poetry form. Yay for Wales!

I love the optimism at the end of this poem and have the same view of my own writing -- that it's all the better for the negative experiences I have had with depression and can now draw on and turn into more positive art.

Really love this poem and will be reading it many times in the future I'm sure.
