Hi Megan

this poem has a magnificent mythological element "The white buffalo". The cultural rhythms got me into reading it and I find it absolutely interesting. I have read that the white buffalo is considered sacred or spiritually significant in several Native American religions; therefore, such buffalo are often visited for prayer and other religious rituals. You put it in simple, admirable poetic terms,
"He was loved by all and was sacred.
He represented purity."
Religions all over the world draw extensively form symbols representing the Almighty.

Meneda achieves significance due to her attachment with the "white buffalo." She is like a spiritual guru of her tribe charged with occult powers.
The mention of seven powers, the evil man with a black heart and the return of Meneda make the poem all the more drawing lending it the flavor of a spiritual legend.

Imagery is visual and spiritual.

It flows well.
