Hello, Maineiac . My name is Charlie and I'm happy to welcome you to the site with a review today. If you have any questions or need help navigating the site, feel free to email me. *Jackolantern* Title, Hook, and Formatting:
Your title, February 14th caught my attention as I was scrolling through the page. Your first line is a great hook and I completely agree with Valentine's Day being at the worst time. I think Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's are way too close together. After the first of January, we have to endure all of January and all of February waiting for a break from the cold. Why is it that the shortest month seems the longest? *Laugh*

*Jackolantern* Best Bits: I thought the rhymes were pretty tight in your poem. They didn't feel forced as though you were just using those words because they would rhyme and writing the rest of the line around that. My favorite line was the first one. I love the imagery of a world of white, a frozen glow. I think that's the perfect way to draw February in a reader's mind.

*Jackolantern* Possible Suggestions: I think the internal rhymes work out okay, but I can't help but think that a different formatting would help the reader have a smoother flow.

The wind is a howling wall of snow,
a world of white,
a frozen glow.

Earth and sky now seem as one.
Barren ground screams,
"Life is done."

That's completely just a personal preference though. I thought I'd mention it anyway!

*Jackolantern* Summary: I think you did a good job of creating the wintery fury of February in the reader's mind. Plus, I agree, why does Valentine's Day have to be in such a cold month? I don't celebrate it anyway, but for those who do, it's probably too cold to even get out of bed. *Laugh*
