Review number # 4 of week Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2014 Hi Oceanborne, My name is Lyn and I am doing a review for Simply Positive. Please remember I am a writer, I know what it feels like to be reviewed! Please take what you feel is helpful and disregard the rest. Only YOU know what is right for your writing! Title: Ronin, First Impression: Excellent! What I liked: Casualties of the never ending war with Mother. The statement boldly emphasizes the on going battle of winter approaching and the impact on the trees. What needs your attention: Nothing! Favorite Parts: My roots aching, ravished by disease, I dig in. I felt so sad for the tree knowing what was coming as it had for the thousand years of its existence. There was no surrender, it was ready to face once again the war with Mother. A beautiful image of the quarter moon comes to mind just as you signify the ending and the tree's resolution to pray. Overall Impression: I thought the color brown was perfectly chosen with the poem centered on the page, signifying the author's and the tree's confidence in their success. Very well written poem. I enjoyed the visual images created of the leaves fluttering about baring his soul and the Japanese samurai warrior declaring he will not surrender. I shared your poem with husband and he agreed with me, Excellent poem! Thank you for letting me read your work. It was my Immense pleasure! Lyn My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
