This is quite a tribute from a husband to his wife. From the poem I could gather that he has a lot of regard for her intelligence and is fascinated by her colorful presence.
The metaphor he uses through out the poem to describe her shows his perspective.
"You are a beautiful butterfly--flying"

Each couplet gives a different view of his lady love and his appreciation of what she is fills the poem to the brim.
