Hello Brittany L. Engels!

This is a Simply Positive Review.*Cards*

*Vine1* I loved this poetic painting of a dark and morbid beast who is attracted to the flame, for eternal burning joins its name. You paint brilliant images that send chills down the spine and is warning that evil lurks right before our eyes and we too could be summoned to its depths if not careful. *Monster5*

*Vignette5* The rhythm and rhyme flowed with a melodious ease.

Observation:

Then the creature might just turn,
And maybe see the fire you burn.
Or if you chose to keep things dark,
He might just hear your beating heart.

Then crazed he’ll run to snuff you out,
And I’ll hear him howl, after you shout.
With that I’ll know he’s taken you,
Then I’ll raise my head in howling too.

In these two stanzas, you begin the line with "Then." I read the poem a few times to see if it would make me pause -- it did. I think there might be another word to begin one of those stanzas to eliminate the repeat in a poem that is so filled with well-chosen words, nicely woven together to bring impact to the reader. *Horse*

Otherwise, spot on! *Umbrellav*

Until next time--write on!
