I am reviewing your story as a judge for "What a Character! : Official WDC Contest" .

Some things I Like:

I think the narrator is a pretty amusing character. He could have come off as a bit arrogant or obnoxious, but somehow, he is quite likable.

Observations & Suggestions:

There are some nice odd details in this piece. Like the 'twenty thumbs in height', for instance, was interesting. I never felt like I got a good sense of the overall setting though. The descriptions were sort of scattered about.

The character may have been a little stronger had there been more focus on him. The voice seemed to get a bit lost now and then while describing the scene and providing dialogue. I must say though that I am not a fan of fantasy and managed to make it through this piece without wishing for it to end every few lines. That is something of a feat and a testament to the quirky character you created here. Still, I think that the piece feels incomplete. You did pretty well within the parameters of the contest's word count though.
