Some things I Like:

I love all of the details that you managed to pack into this piece. The word count is quite short, but you seemed to make the most of it! The character is relatively well-rounded.

Observations & Suggestions:

For the contest, the goal was to introduce a character in his own voice. The POV here does not allow Vasili to use his own voice. It is not an issue for the piece itself, but it matters for the contest judging.

The piece is relatively engaging, but I actually enjoyed the story details more than the character himself. Still, you did well with it I think.
