Some things I Like:

I like that this was not the typical "My name is _____" character description. The story was a bit more engaging.

Observations & Suggestions:

This did not read much like a character development piece at all. It is a pretty long piece, but I don't really feel like I got to know the narrator much.

I do generally think that it is a better choice to show who a character is through action and behavior, but in this case, the story/plot/imagery out-shined the character a bit. That is not much of an issue for me as a reader (though a super strong character is a perk), but it matters quite a bit as a judge for a character contest.

Overall, this is a well done piece though! It was an enjoyable read.
