Hi

A reflective Christmas story. I like the way the you have depicted a child's thinking and how soon she would grasp the reality. You have brought out the real meaning of Christmas. It is not about the gifts or their value. It is the celebration of love and togetherness. In this story even without too many gifts, the family is drawn together by the bond of understanding and affection.
Characters-
The sisters, and the parents are clearly shown. The financial crisis, mother's concern about the reaction of her younger daughter regarding the gift and the father's discomfort at not being able to provide the things his daughter likes.
"Christmas was more than gifts under a tree. Food on the table and the love that put it there, that was Christmas! And Christmas was family."
Mother is shown working continuously to keep the family comfortable.
