Message well conveyed. "We should make Goodwill and cheer" whatever be the season. Winter comes with snow, cold, Christmas, gifts, food and the New Year. Mood varies as shown so clearly in the poem. Celebration is only for a while and then the cold reality dawns and we get busy, annoyed, and overjoyed at things that do not last.
This poem reflects the pleasure and pain of not only the season but also human life. It tells how attached we become to our daily grind and think a world of it, while things of beauty such as joy, smiles, cheer and compassion pass by unnoticed. It shows the value of keeping the mind above the pain, strife and frown.
Let's be grateful for those few days of cheer and joy thanks to the "season".
Imagery is catchy and the style sensory.
