It was an interesting poem, even if I do not understand it. There were little grouping of words that went well together, but maybe someone else got it where I did not.

I got it fine until you talked about Herod's men. Are you being metaphoric or what? Herod's men slew children, so not sure if your sapling means the Christ child or what. They took off for another country, so Herod's men didn't leave Him alone, He was gone.

It is a puzzler for me. Poetry is often understood more by the writer than the reader. lol Thanks for sharing this. Even if I didn't get it, there is beauty there.
