I saw this listed on the Please Review Page and took a look. I hope you find my comments helpful.

There is very little here to go on. I expected to find a description of a locket, but there wasn't even a mention of a locket. That left me a bit confused.

Your review request is to see whether I would want to read the book after reading this description. In truth, this is much too short for me to say either yes or no. If you look at the story synopsis on a book jacket you'll see that quite a lot of information is found there. If you are interested in whether a person would want to read the book based on this short description probably won't get you an accurate answer.

Some things I liked:
David, homeless and hungry, is wandering through a Pittsburgh blizzard, death nipping at his heels... Using the death nipping at is heels is a good hook, but telling the reader at least a small bit about this would be helpful. Is he sick? Is someone following him? Something needs to be known before I can say I'd read this book.

The house is unknown to him, but strangely familiar. This is good in that it sets a tone for the story. Something unknown and yet familiar lends itself to many possibilities. Fantasy? Drama? Spooky?


Some things that I question:
Following his feet? I think I understand what you're trying to describe here, but it seems a bit awkward. Maybe his feet led David somewhere?

David finds himself at the doorstep of the house, drawn to the woman within. How does he know there is a woman inside the house?


In answer to your question, no, I would not read a book based solely on this description. Again, look at a book jacket and you'll see how much description the reader is given to help him/her chose the book. The book may be great, maybe not, but with this short, vague description it's impossible to know.
