I liked this short piece of story very much. My favorite part was knowing different beliefs about what/who lurked past the trees. You also did a good thing showing the history of the place. It reminds me of places where once people died and whose souls haunt the place such as some hospitals and other places where people died due to war. I guess some of such places remains haunted to an extent that people ay not return when they go to some of these places.

I didn't understand the phrase "Pagan of God". Other than that, a very interesting portion. Hope you'll extend it. Write on!
