Hi Kimmie
It is quite an engaging story. Honest and straight from experience. Though termed a "comedy" I am sure it must have been a shattering moment when Kimmie found out the sweaty hands of the boy whom she loved and the way the "crush" ended.
You told the story from a first and second grader's points of view, which show the mentality of a girl at that point of time of life. Memories are so clearly recorded and reproduced in an interesting narrative style.
Kimmie must be a sensitive girl to have fallen in love at that tender age. The way she tries to struggles to gain Craig's attention just shows her keenness to make friends with him. Her hatred and dislike for the same boy are just as natural. It takes about a few moments to realize how incompatible she finds him.
I like this story because it is so close to reality, a reality which many of us go through.
