"SIMPLY POSITIVE GROUP

Hello there, Spanky De - We Got This!
This is a Simply Positive Review! *Vine1*

I found your poem by clicking on the "Random Review" button. *Knob*

*Compass* I usually approach Haiku by giving it a quick read, followed by another, to feel the moment and let it sink in. I may go on to a third read if images come to life in my mind. *Bird*

*Vignette7* Your Haiku does follow the traditional pattern of a nature-based theme, 5-7-5 syllable count for the three lines. It does emphasize simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression. Which is important when dealing with such a compact poem.

*Painting2* I pictured a bird in the tree, a mockingbird, actually, because its song is so varied, as it is the great imitator. And then, I tried to imagine its song was about flying -- singing about the great freedom of flying, and how beautiful it is in flight. Then it hit me -- I understood what the song meant. However, perhaps I was wrong to put "words" into a bird's very individual tone and sweet melody that is incomparable. It just stirred that up in my mind's eye, though.

Observation:

*Video* I think the last line fell a little bit flat with the "No one understands." Perhaps simplicity could use a bit more impact and still be simple?

TRY: "So expertly done"

*Tools* Maybe its just my vision of the bird that makes me want to give it more power in its natural environment.

However, this Haiku was done well and stays within the classic form.

Good job! *Fleurdelis*

Until next time--write on!
