December 7, 1941 [ASR] Remember those who perished on Pearl Harbor Day |
Hello, I am PandaPaws and I am reviewing this piece as part of the Simply Positive Group! TITLE: Being interested in historical poems and in particular ones about World War II I was immediately drawn to this poem. Even without the introduction I knew exactly what this piece was going to be about. THEME: Somber and respectful. TONE: The tone is somber as well, being a short poem it could have read quiclkt but your choice of words slow us down and let us take in the experience. RHYTHM/METER: Your rhythm is fine, flowing from one line to the next clearly and wonderfully. FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE: This is truly just my own opinion and use what you can and ignore what you don't agree with. I questioned the use of the word 'gems' in the first line. Are you referring to the men or the ships? I think I would have used another term, but as I said this is your poem and only you know best. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: I found no errors in spelling, or grammar. The poem is very well written. EXCELLENT WRITING EXAMPLES: I think the most poignant line would be the last one... blood flows ruby red Nothing could be more true. Well done. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
