*CakeB* HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews*CakeP*

You are a very lucky man! *Laugh* I of course mean both that you have been married for so many years and that your wife didn't kill you back then, although it was a close call.

I liked the introduction because it told the readers a little about your family and that particular weekend that nearly ended in disaster. The nature of the break was quite humorous considering what was going to happen later and it worked well to lead into the story with that bit of background to set the scene. It showed how much you enjoyed the calm, peaceful atmosphere and how relaxed you must have been when you set off on your way home.

But that was when it all started to go wrong. The readers could sense the tension building on your journey as things went from bad to worse and one thing after another started to test both your and your wife's patience. There was a measure of humour in the narration which reminded the readers that it all ended well although it wasn't hard to imagine the pressure in the car at the time. Your descriptions, with quite a few years between the incident and the time of writing, or course, were light-hearted which might have lulled the readers into a false sense of security when you reached the rental place, and your outburst probably shocked them as much as it did everyone present at the time. The descriptions at that point were excellent and the whole scene was easy to imagine.

Fortunately your wife got the anger out of her system with that one hit, which was lucky because you still had quite a bit of the journey ahead of you which seemed to pass without further incidents and you could appreciate being back home at the end. The repetition of the last line worked well to link the ending to the beginning. I admit, when I first read the title this wasn't the type of story I was expecting to read, but it was very entertaining even if you didn't think of it that way at the time! *Smile*
