Oh, I really, really like what this has to say. If only all bullies just didn't realize how bad they made people feel from their teasing. Sometimes they do, I'm sure, but in cases like in your children's poem, I bet this really does happen. Good for Cindy May, sticking up for herself and letting Bobby know his humor was not humoring her.

My reviews are intended to be helpful and encouraging, not hurtful in any way. Use what you feel works, and leave the rest.

To be honest, at first it bothered me just a wee bit that the meter wasn't spot on as far as traditional poetry goes. But then as I continued, I admitted to myself that it works... In fact, perfect meter sometimes comes across as forced, especially when rhyming.

The last line does feel a bit forced, especially the last few words. You may want to think about rewording it or something. But that's up to you, course.

This statement was a surprise.
It all had been funny in his eyes.

And how often does this happen? Too much. It upsets me. My nine year old granddaughter has experienced some of this at school, only from girls. If kids only knew the effect mean words had on others, perhaps they would stop saying mean things.
