I get the complete picture of the climate and nature's pattern in California.
Summer heat and drought and toasted grass are evenly balanced against the evergreen trees like the tangerine and tuna. Humans feel the change but the birds, rustle of trees in the "crisp morning air" go on as they did for eons.
The poet has no regrets whatever regarding the heat or the unpredictable weather. I hear people complaining of the heat, the dust and the restlessness. But I too am to "carpe diem". Enjoy the present and look the best picture it presents. The cold of January, the heat of May and the rain of August are equally enjoyable. What else do we need to keep the spirit happy and uplifted?

Imagery-
Imagery is visual and appealing. Each stanza has a different picture of nature to look at and think about and visualize.

Flow-
This free style is comfortable to read along due to its informal and personal tone. The pauses, the short lines and long ones together make the poem flow well.
