Hi! I am Aqua and the following are only my personal opinions. Ultimately, you and only you can decide what works best for your item.

I am always amazed to read such an evolved version on poetry whose theme is actually something quite simple as compared to the theme presented in the poem. I couldn't have known that it would be about old people taken to old age homes because their own families cannot give them the attention they want and deserve. Such a shame and tragedy.

The way you presented the neglected elderly was perfect and beautiful in it's own way. Loved it! The first line of the poem was very heart breaking as it really touched me and I could feel how it must have felt like to be the center of attention for everyone and then suddenly kept, caged, in the dark, no one caring about you anymore. The fourth line of the second stanza made me understand that people or young ones feel that once the older people retire, when they need the help of their family, the family starts to feel them as a burden and when they do something for the elder people, they expect something in return.

The strong and clever use of vocabulary in your poem allowed the reader to perfectly imagine the situation and understand the feeling of despair and loneliness of the elder people. It tore at my heart. The poetic devices you used in your poem were good, advanced and very well, they added a good impact on the overall poem and the reader. My favourite stanza was the first one. As I mentioned above, it really touched me.
