Prompt: Some folks like to Hi-Light their favorite lines in a book. Others are enraged by such a desecration. Write a story or poem about finding a used book full of yellow markings.

You did a nice job following the prompt. A library book with highlighted words! Oh, my. I worked in a library for about 20 years, so I cringe to think someone would do that. At first, when you wrote the word "the" had been highlighted, all I could think of was when I was little and learning to read. I went through a book and circled all the "the" words. Anyway, nice work. But what a spoiler that highlighter was!!!

I loved your second stanza:

I settle in with lots of time
This afternoon will all be mine,
To finally read the latest book
All snuggled in my reading nook.
