Hello! I'm reading horoscope items for a challenge, and I've got to say... Wow was I confused when I pasted the item number! First, I thought maybe it was actually a book entry instead... nope. Clearly this item has been around for a long while now. I rarely have cause to review pieces that have been on WDC for 12 years. I cannot imagine that you'd want to go back and edit it now anyway, but I figured that I might as well shoot you a quick review.

I think that the piece is pretty funny. I definitely am not a horoscope reader and think that astrology is pretty much foolish fluff, so I think that the satirical jokes land more often than not. You don't take it too far into the realm of bad taste and usually don't fall into predictable jokes (the latter being the kiss of death for satire).

The opening jokes set up the tone really well. "Avoid dairy products" made me smile. The horoscopes that really relate to extremely well-known facts about the signs work well (cancer is a crab, taurus is the bull, etc), but I think that some of these fall flat because there is no link to the actual sign that I can see. I'm an astrology skeptic not a buff, which I would guess makes me the perfect audience for this piece... if there are nods to the signs in Pisces, for instance, it is totally lost on me.

Overall though, I think this was a fun little read. It wasn't earth-shattering or the funniest thing I've read, but it was cute and amusing. It could be better, but it is fine as it is.
