This free verse shows how "social walls" could block one human being born of a culture from those of others. Come to think of it there is no culture or race which is the extract of everything good and holy. Let us remember we are just human beings and not demi-gods.
The poet has certain opinions about one's own origins and I agree with him/her. An individual is judged on his or her own character and not because of his creed or caste. Until and unless one is guilty of some wrong doing, nothing stops him/her from being true to identity.
"So tell them your name.
Roll your Rs."
("R"s or Rs)
I like the way the verse scrolls down to end on a note of merit and proud heritage.
It is inspiring and instilling confidence in those who need it.
